SPECIAL SCREENINGS
There is something for everyone in this section. A documentary about art? Please yourself, whether it is a history of Andy Warhol’s pop art or Benin reclaiming its cultural heritage in Dahomey. Something about photography, perhaps? James Hamilton and his shots of New York City are just the right thing. Anything for children? Depending on age and preference, there is Kina and Yuk for fans of animals and faraway lands, and Tongue Cutters for the amateurs of big thoughts in young minds. How about the Polish premiere of a film about a puppet theatre icon? Queen Leokadia is recommended for viewing in imperial surroundings. The special screenings are replete with both entertainment and reflection, which is why they will often be accompanied by meetings with the filmmakers and experts in a given field, to underscore the link between the documentary and the real world. Here, one of the eloquent examples will be You Are Not Alone, with an introduction by Adrianna Sołtysiak, a collaborator the Abortion Dream Team.
