OFF CINEMA 2019: Powracająca Fala/The Returning Wave - POKAZ SPECJALNY

Czas przyszły dokonany. Opowieść o atmosferze wielkich przemian z perspektywy niewielkiego Jarocina i o sile muzyki. W 1985 roku Piotr Łazarkiewicz pojechał do Jarocina zapytać ludzi co to jest przyszłość?. Miejsce i pytanie nie były przypadkowe. Czasy były niepewne, a festiwal w Jarocinie symbolizował wszystko to, co miało nadejść po roku 1989. ytani nie snuli kolorowych wizji. Towarzyszyła im zachowawczość, klaustrofobia i... fantastyczna muzyka. W efekcie powstał jeden z najważniejszych polskich dokumentów muzycznych – Fala. Trzydzieści lat później bohaterowie Fali ponownie stają przed kamerą. Ponownie, już w przyszłości, którą wyobrażali sobie w 1985 roku odpowiadają jeszcze raz na pytanie co to jest przyszłość? Kim są dzisiaj zbuntowani nastolatkowie z tamtych lat? Jak potoczyły się losy artystów, którzy w większości zdobyli rzesze fanów i zdefiniowali polską muzykę?

This is a story told in the future perfect tense, a tale about the atmosphere of great change as seen from the standpoint of the small town of Jarocin and about the power of music. In 1985, Piotr Łazarkiewicz went to Jarocin to ask people What is future? Neither the place nor the question were random. The times were uncertain, while the Jarocin festival symbolized everything that would come after 1989. The people he asked had no colourful visions to share, as they were accompanied by some constraint, claustrophobia and... fantastic music. This yielded one of the most important music documentaries in Poland: The Wave. Thirty years later, its protagonists face the camera yet again. And yet again, in the very future they had envisaged in 1985, they answer the same question, What is future? Who are the rebellious teenagers of the 1980s now? What were the fates of artists who, for the most part, gained great following among the fans and determined the shape of Polish music?

MICHAŁ WIRASZKO − muzyk i autor tekstów, również dla innych artystów. Lider i wokalista poznańskiej grupy Muchy, z którą wydał pięć albumów. W latach 2008-2010 oraz od 2017 roku dyrektor artystyczny festiwalu w Jarocinie. Dyrektor muzyczny Estrady Poznańskiej. Członek Kapituły Nagrody Kulturalnej Miasta Poznania. Powracająca fala to jego debiut na polu filmowym.

MICHAŁ WIRASZKO − a musician and author of lyrics, written for other artists as well. Leader and singer of the Poznań-based band Muchy, with whom he has released five albums so far. In 2008-2010 and since 2017 artistic director of the Jarocin festival, as well as music director at Estrada Poznańska. Member of the Chapter of the City of Poznań Culture Award. The Returning Wave is Wiraszko’s debut as a filmmaker.
